The new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is a solidly built mean machine capable of taking on rough Indian roads with its robust looks and good performance. Introduced on 12th March 2012, this power packed SUV crossover comes equipped with all the possible standard features, great ride quality and impressive design. Available as completely built unit (CBU), the single variant Pajero Sport has received special care in terms of its power capabilities by the auto maker. Moreover, the crossover also has astounding ground clearance, excellent terrain handling capability and 17-inch alloy wheels with a minimum turning radius of 5.6 metres. So, to practically feel the performance of the Pajero Sport, we went on to get our hands on Mitsubishi’s new Pajero Sport.
The front facia of the Pajero Sport enlivens chrome garnish with chrome polished vertical front grille and bold fog lamps. Adding to this are the beautiful headlamp clusters that give a ‘devouring’ stance to the SUV. Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has sporty roof rails, elegant tail lamps and the glossy side steps. Along with all these, the 17-inch alloy wheels as well as the slick curves and lines flowing through the flanks enhances the classy look of the crossover.
The interior of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is plush and embody convenience, comfort and exclusivity. The crossover boasts sufficient space in all the three rows and comfortable seats. The beige leather of premium quality incorporated in the cabin gives more spacious and airy feel to the cabin. Powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged intercooled diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with all wheel drive system, the Pajero Sport is capable of generating the output of 178 PS @4000 rpm and peak torque of 400 Nm @ 2000-2500 rpm.
The crossover provides enhanced ride quality and absorbs most of the bumps with the help of its double wishbone with coil spring suspension in the front and a 3-link coil spring suspension at the rear. The crossover truly looks like and invader on road with its great ride quality and adequate performance. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport also offers decent fuel efficiency of 11 kmpl.
The all-new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport priced at Rs. 23.53 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) is an impressive machine with great kits on offer. This crossover is likely to grab the market space of the others in the same segment.
