Toyota Etios Racing Series Expected Soon

It is believed that Toyota is planning to enter the Indian motorsports with one-make series in 2012. A teaser released by Toyota with the New Year Wishes highlights the Etios Motor Racing series.

January 3, 2012: If the speculations are to be believed, then Toyota is planning to enter the Indian Motorsports with one-make series in 2012. And the recently released teaser of the Etios Motor Racing along with the New Year Wishes by Toyota is somewhere down the line adding support to the speculations.

 Although Toyota hasn’t given any details on this, we can expect the Etios racing series to get unveiled at the upcoming 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. The teaser displays both the sedan Etios and the hatchback Liva, and therefore, it is still not confirmed as to which car will be used for the series.

Thus, it is certain to believe that the Toyota Racing Development (TRD) is involved in tuning the cars for the series. After Volkswagen (Polo Cup), Toyota will be the second manufacturer to enter motorsports in India. Apart from this, the races are likely to run on all the tree tracks in India namely Buddh International Circuit in Noida, Madra Motor Race Track in Chennai and Kari Speedway in Coimbatore.
