Tata Motors Hikes Prices of Passenger Vehicles by up to Rs. 12,000
The range of the hike in prices will vary between Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 12,000 depending on the model. However, Tata Motors won’t be hiking the prices of its small car Nano and the premium crossover Aria.
February 11, 2012: Tata Motors has announced of the hike in prices of its passenger vehicle by up to Rs. 12,000 in order to reduce the impact of high input costs. However, Tata Motors has not increased the price of its small car Nano and the premium crossover Aria. The hike in prices has been effective from February 9, 2012.
“The high input costs have been impacting us for quite some time. We have decided to pass on some burden to our customers. The quantum of the hike will vary between Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 12,000 depending on the model,” said a spokesperson of Tata Motors. The spokesperson also mentioned that the Nano and Aria are not included in the category of passenger vehicles witnessing hike in their prices.
By this hike in prices, Tata Motors joins the automotive companies that have hiked prices of their passenger cars. Some of these auto companies are Maruti Suzuki India, General Motors India, Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra and Hyundai Motor India.
