Export of Nissan Sunny Began from Ennore Port

Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd. has already initiated the export of its sedan Sunny from the Ennore port. On 1st February 2012, the first shipment of 3,452 Sunny cars was exported by Nissan.

February 10, 2012: Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd has initiated the export of its sedan Sunny from February 1, 2012. The company is exporting the Nissan Sunny from the Ennore port, located 25km to the north of Chennai. Nissan is also exporting its hatch Micra from the same port.

According to the reports, the first shipment to be exported consisted of 3,452 units of Nissan Sunny sedan. The shipment was dispatched to West Asia on the vessel Cosmos Ace. The company is looking forward to increase the export volumes with the aim to ship cars worth around US $100 million in 2012.

The sedan Sunny produced at the Oragadam facility near Chennai will be following the footsteps of Micra and will be exported to the regions where Micra is already being exported. Till today, Nissan India has exported 85,000 units from its Oragadam manufacturing plant. Surprisingly, the company shipped 14,403 units only in the month of January.

The official reports of the company states that Nissan started exporting cars to the Middle East and next on its list is Iran as well as some African countries followed by the Europe.
